To prepare future leaders of industry, academia, and government through broad engineering education and high quality multidisciplinary research.

OUR RESEARCH FOCUS AND GOALS

1. To advance thermal/fluid sciences as a fundamental discipline and to apply fundamental knowledge towards inventing radically new energy conversion, materials processing and manufacturing, biomedical, and environmental technologies;

2. To understand and control the multiscale dynamic interactions between different modes of heat/mass transfer and chemical/phase transformations in engineering systems through theoretical analysis and detailed experimentation;

3. To develop conceptual frameworks and practical tools for intelligent design and system-level integration, optimization, and optimal control of thermo-fluid systems;

4. To seek and actively pursue all available opportunities for technology transfer and commercialization.
